A sunny day in Leiden

This has been the warmest April in Holland since they began recording weather statistics. The sun has been steady, and there has been so little rain that animals in the Veluwe are suffering. For us, escaping Chennai's cruel kattri veyyil (aka agni nakshatram), it is just warm enough to walk around comfortably and we don't want it to get any warmer.

Two views of Apothekersdijk

Rembrandt's studio was along this canal on the right side.

The Rapenburg, one of Leiden's loveliest streets. Its alleys lead to departments and offices of Leiden University.
